2 man synth funk band from leeds influenced by the 80s disco & boogie sounds from nyc. this ep is one for the synth funk freaks, with electro-funk jams, modern synth funk/disco, & sweet electro-bass melodies.

tommy bones returns to strictly rhythm with the * love & war ep*, featuring get down and love & war, two original cuts that highlight once again that tommy is a man with a history that spans the many variants of house music. get down contrasts the classic house sound with contemporary beats, while his get down (remix) adds more horns to give the track an early 90s feel. the retro future vibe continues with ‘love & war’ which rolls on a heavier, darker and techier tip. rounding off proceedings is love & war (war dub) which is exclusively available on vinyl only.

mystery man l.f.t. delivers the second ep for woodwork. his poignant debut wood002 includes three original tracks and a remix by benedikt frey. a1 is a dreamy rhodes journey roughened up by distorted 808 sounds. a2 is a melodic house track with a bubbly bassline juxtaposed against crunchy drums. on the flipside, b1 will take you into a laid-back acid house trip fueled by tons of escorial. benedikt frey then twists the track into a trippy techno journey on b2.

the second of the untld protagonist series, by furz, savours the spirit of alfred tailor, an influential figure in the development of the bright young artist, whose first ep is strong and smooth, with raw energy, sultry and primal. the title track is remixed by laurine frost, who inspired by the south american hypnosis of the artist, takes it further, developing the dialogue and deepening the percussive structure, whilst maintaining the mystique and spirit of alfred tailor. the second original work on the record, entitled torino soul is an ode to the automobile of alfred tailor, it opens serenely as if racing through the valleys of cordoba s horizon, scenery rushing by on a hot day. amidst this, the mechanical metal of the engine revolves in it place, as we are rushed forward, and the voice heard a memory both of the machine and the man, alfred tailor.

electronic emergencies is proud to introduce ceci n est pas, a synth wave project from new york consisting of nico nightingale, pierre klein and jorge socarras. nico nightingale is the man behind neud photo and earlier worked with pierre klein as neud. jorge socarras was singer with synth maestro patrick cowley in the 70s duo catholic, and with 80s cult band indoor life. together, they started ceci n est pas in 2014, and this 7 inch -the last time- is their first release. the title track on the a-side is an irrestisibly melancholic and romantic synth wave pop song, while b-side -the stranger- has a mysterious and yearning feel.
